Is there even one who doesn’t? I’m afraid so. The majority of photo-editing jobs in any given industry are done by individuals who use Photoshop. Photoshop is so well-known in the industry, that you hear people talking about it on radio and in-person in places like this one: [], which is pretty darn important to keep in mind! If you want to improve your skills and earn a living, this is the place to be.

What about online editing? A big part of the job involves putting together your images for web publication. This is the big, big deal, and I’ve written about some tips on how to prepare in my “7 Tips for a Great Web Publication” article. Once you’ve completed the editing, most photographers take to social media to share some of the work they’ve accomplished. I’ve found that it’s best for most photographers to post about how they’ve completed the work and how you can easily apply their techniques in your own work. It’s also great to keep the details of which photos have been processed and what has already been processed a secret to avoid the embarrassment of your images being out-shopped by anyone else.

Is there anything else? Yes. There’s still a lot of work to do in the world of photo-editing-as-a- profession. But most of the time I think if you’re reading about the work I’m discussing, your time is well-spent. Some photographers work very hard at it as I once heard several of them say. So even if you’re not making any bucks and you’re not getting noticed, at least you’re enjoying yourself.

On April 5, a new study revealed that a new strain of hepatitis A virus was being spread through the United States in the midst of a spike in cases of the disease in other regions. That outbreak quickly grew into a statewide health emergency.

For those that don’t remember, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified hepatitis from 2012-2014 as the cause of the increase in West Nile virus and other strains of the disease in the U.S. The CDC initially blamed the increase on the spread of the virus from Southeast Asia to the U.S. — and the results of a recent study revealed they were right — but now the agency has admitted they were wrong and that the culprit in the epidemic has moved to North America.
