It took me about 4 years to learn the harmonica. After mastering it, it took 2.5 years to learn how to play in rhythm and time (the only thing I still had not mastered). Once I had mastered the harmonica and all the techniques necessary to play it properly, I played the piano. Since that day I have played the flute, French horn, and the bass guitar. In short, the more my skill, the less time it takes to master new things.
You have a different perspective on time. Is that a good thing for beginners?
Of course it’s a good thing to be sure you know what you’re doing. Even if you don’t, your abilities will be put to good use if you know what you’re doing. It’s also a good thing to be able to use the skills that you learn to something better, like what your body can do. It doesn’t mean learning the piano and the violin. That would be silly. It would be more like “learn how to play the piano” and then forget about it. When I first learned the piano, I didn’t bother to learn to read music. I just memorized the notes and started playing. Eventually, I started learning to play the piano and reading music. Later, I learned how to read music, and I kept doing that for 15 years. At one point, I realized that learning to play music wasn’t that difficult. I just needed to practice more. That’s how I learned to play the piano. Learning to play any instrument takes practice. And it is a lot to learn, especially if you’re just starting out. By not starting until you are able to play everything possible, you learn something at the same time.
You have a different perspective on learning, how long does the learning process take?
It depends on the skill level and how deep you are. Once you achieve a “good technique,” then your progress is much quicker. And once you’re a master in one instrument, then you start going to the other. If you get to grips with one instrument, you will then be able to work with other instruments. To me, the only time it takes is to practice with a piece of music. I use it very often with my band. Once you learn how to get the right notes, you can get used to other musicians. After practicing with someone for a few times, you get to listen to music together and know how to play it. At this stage, the
