What’s the difference between “warmth” and “tonal”, and how do they work?
You don’t have to be a seasoned professional and be a tone expert by any means, it just helps to know a bit about what is going on on the other side of the instrument. It’s important to understand the dynamics of the instrument.
When we think of tone, that’s generally what we think about, but we are always surprised by the wide range that is available, especially with electronic instruments. For example, there are different kinds of tone in acoustic guitars and electric guitars, and you have the same kind of effects on many different kinds of instruments. We’re usually surprised by the effect of an electric guitar amp in terms of how you can create a wide range of sounds.
Is there a particular reason for the importance of a certain frequency? Does it vary from person to person?
In many types of music, there is a specific musical relationship between frequencies. For instance, this might be the case in music with a fast rhythm or in music with an electronic pulse (we might get different sounds and experiences depending on which method we chose to play the instrument).
We think about music with a fast rhythm and fast notes and fast tempos, and the music gets slower and slower the faster the note moves along with the rhythm. It becomes less and less fast – what you would call in terms of audio speed of the pulse.
This is the basis of everything else we do, where you can add the second part of the music because the music starts slower and it also starts to sound slower and slower as the pulse continues to move along.
What about tone qualities like harmonic resonance, and how do these vary amongst different species, cultures, and musicians?
Our ears and our ears alone don’t have any of these qualities. Our ears are basically different from other animals, because they can tell us about the tone, which makes them our closest kind of music friends. We are able to pick up sound, but we aren’t able to have any other relationships with tone as far as we know on earth that are very much like that.
What is the difference between a musical note and a sound that will give you a sensation of pleasure?
Musical notes are a feeling of pleasure, and they are not necessarily pleasant. They are very subjective, but it would be very difficult to define that in terms of any sound.
If we talk about sounds we can talk
