There are two types of ukes: acoustic and electric. Acoustic ekes have a solid wood body, and as they have the lower pitched octave in most scales. They have a good sustain with lots of low notes. Electric ekes have a lower pitched octave, and are more like what you would find in a violin. They have a higher pitched note in most scales, but are more of a “hollow body”. They are typically more expensive than a concert or tenor uke, but can be found for a lot less.
This photo from the website of the Berklee College of Music shows a concert ukulele (not included in the picture above). This is a really high pitched acoustic eke.
And this is what they look like in the store:
The electric uke is the most popular and popular in the world.
The name derives directly from the fact that electric ukes cost more than their acoustic counterparts. This comes back to electric instruments being more comfortable, not to mention safer due to the fact that the electric motor is not needed to play the ukulele.
Eyes of an individual uke: In a traditional uke you’d find a top with a long handle, the back, and possibly a head, as well. The body has a single ply, round, hardwood or other material, and is flat on the back. The soundboard is sometimes made of another type of material, like a laminated or laminated vinyl.
In a regular uke, you’d find the top and back separated by a neck, often on a peghead, while the body itself had a neck or a neckless uke. When a uke comes in a different model it is usually because it is older or has been altered in some way.
The standard ukulele is made in a number of different factories around the world. The majority of the international models are made by companies like Gibson and Steinberger, but there are many others around the world.
