If you have never played piano then you would be hard pressed to find someone who would argue with you on that one. I am a firm believer in musicality and I know that many do not agree with me, but that still does not really matter. I would rather disagree with them on such matters than agree with them on a matter that is not of paramount importance.
I am a good example of this. Let me start off by acknowledging that my first love in music was the violins and I have always found their sound wonderful. Over the years I found that when it came to a piano performance, I prefer to play a little bit louder than I would like to. Since I can’t change it all out, I have resorted to tuning all the keys to 9.8 Hz for the violins as they were the key of the lower register. I am happy to say though that I no longer tune my piano to 9.8 Hz.
What about guitar?
One great thing about learning to play music is that it never loses interest. As anyone who has ever tried to perform an old song know, playing the same piece over and over again is very difficult unless you learn how to perform it. I love playing the guitar. I do have problems though. One is that I am easily distracted. I am very easily distracted when practicing on an instrument. I get too comfortable, lose a beat, or simply fall asleep. All in all, I do enjoy learning to play guitar and I have found that some learning comes from time and patience. For me, patience is my best friend and the best tool on the piano to help me reach the next level. It is also important to remember that you can never get bored with a lesson. Even the hardest lesson taught is not always the most enjoyable lesson to hear.
In fact, patience and being patient are things that are key to learning piano. I have been learning a lot recently. Not only are I learning, but I am not having any fun. I wish for some advice, it is hard for me to explain to you why patience is so important but I will have to do it over again if I ever have a chance.
I wish everyone the very best of luck in the years to come and if you have any tips or advice on improving your piano playing, please email me!
