It really depends on your style of dancing and the person you’re dancing with.
If you are a beginner and love to be up on the pole, make sure that your partner is well in advance of you.
In such a case, you should always try to use your pole as a weapon, hitting the pole with your bare butt (on the dance floor or the floor of the pole room!) or using a polearm with both hands for balance.
Then, it’s up to you to decide how you want to use your pole in terms of weight and angle.
But if you want something else, it’s a good idea to train with a pole dancer in your area who has experience and a good pole dance style.
And this helps to increase your level of freedom in your pole dancing, as well as your confidence!

How long does it take from the start of a class to actually perform?
It depends on your skill level. If you have never practiced pole dancing before, the first couple of classes might take you all of a few minutes, and most of that is learning how to dance around the pole.
As the class progresses, you have to be very consistent, and the more you practice, the better you’ll get at it.
It’s important to remember that you want to start off slowly, just learning what you can do, and be comfortable.
And don’t be afraid to get into some tricky positions!
Does pole dancing start for everyone?
For most people, pole dancing does not begin for them until ages 16 to 20. There are, however, two reasons why this process can start earlier:
Some have more innate talent, or are more motivated to learn pole by their own efforts, than others.
You are more likely to be the person who will find pole dancing more challenging, stimulating, or interesting if you’ve already got a decent foundation.
Why should I start pole dancing?
If you are interested in pole dancing, you should try it one-handed or both-handed.
This way, you will not develop a strong wrist and finger muscles, which will make you less comfortable with the pole.
