According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a normal weight person loses about 20-30 pounds over a lifetime. However, with weight loss that is under 15% of your bodyweight the following rules need to be followed when trying to lose weight:
Be very clear about your goals.
Do you want to lose 50 lbs or less by the end of your next year.
Set realistic goals like 5, 10, 15, or 20 lbs. and set weekly time blocks for your weight loss.
Do not obsess over losing the calories, since you will be losing them anyway.
If your weight is not keeping you in the desired range for weight loss, use an energy and/or calorie plan to lose weight.
If you are underweight, consider getting a professional nutrition plan.
If you are obese, try a weight loss program that has been proven effective in treating obesity and diabetes.

The US-led coalition fighting to topple Islamic State in Syria and Iraq has carried out four air strikes on Islamic State targets in west Mosul, which have killed dozens so far, officials said.
